What CBD Strength Do I Need?

What CBD Strength Do I Need? One of the most frequently asked questions we get is what strength CBD do I need? And while we’d love to be able to give a direct and simple response to every person who asks, the truth is, there isn’t a straight answer to the question.

CBD interacts with the human body, and everybody’s body differently, so what works for person A, might not work for person B, and vice versa.

But wait, don’t leave. While we can’t give a direct answer to the question, we can advise you on the best way to find out for yourself, which is exactly what we’re going to do here (we’ll make it interesting too, so stick around).

How to Start Taking CBD

If you are new to the CBD world, then the advice we have for you is simple, start gently. As we said above, everyone’s body is different, and it’s better to start too light than too strong.

With that in mind, start with a light strength product, no more than 5%, maybe as low as 1%, and micro-dose, as in take a very small amount.

If that doesn’t feel like enough, increase the dose a little, and keep doing that until it feels right. If that still doesn’t do the trick, get a higher strength product the next time, and see if that works.

It might take a bit of trial and error before you find what’s right for you, but when you do, stop there. There is no competition when it comes to CBD strength, whatever works for you is where you should stick.

Another quick note for those new to CBD, if you are wondering why the product you are trying isn’t getting you high, it’s because it isn’t supposed to. That’s not what CBD does.

The effect CBD will have on you is, again, pretty personal to you, you’ll know what’s right for you when you feel it.

Stopping at the Right CBD Strength

Like with anything, there will be a temptation to see how high you can go, what your tolerance can handle, but this is not a good idea.

There is the possibility of side effects if you go too high, and there will be no benefit in doing so. As said above, there is no ‘high’ with CBD, the THC content in legal CBD products will never be higher than 0,2% as the CBD is taken from industrial hemp plants. These plants are high in CBD and low in THC, so it isn’t like there’ll be a ‘buzz’ if you test your tolerance levels.

If you stop when you feel comfortable, you will land on a dose that is right for you and has benefits for you, these will be yours and yours alone, and may be totally different to the next person’s.

When CBD Doesn’t Work

So, what happens if you have been taking CBD, have gone up to a strength that should be having some effect, but you’re not feeling anything at all?

The chances are, you have bought your CBD products from a less than a trustworthy supplier, which we do not advise.

Due to the limited regulation currently in place in the CBD industry, you may find you are buying products that are mislabelled, and do not contain the strength of CBD advertised. In some cases, there may be no CBD in the product at all, or a synthetic version, or something that isn’t anything like CBD.

Obviously, this comes with risks. Feeling no effect is arguably the nicest outcome, if you don’t know what you’re taking, there’s no knowing what it could do.

That’s why it’s important to use a trusted and regulated supplier (*cheeky wave*) to ensure that you are buying a high-quality product.

If you have bought products from us, and you are worried they are not having the desired effect, or if you have any questions about the right strength of CBD for you, or the right strength or product to start with, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
