How Much CBD Should I Vape? Dosage is one of the main subjects we get asked about when it comes to CBD products. Today, we’re going to focus on one particular question that comes up on the topic, how much CBD should you vape? 

Firstly, let’s get the important bit out of the way, there is no single answer to this question, there is no one dose that is right for everybody. Everyone reacts differently to CBD, however, it is used, so this article is instead more about how to find the right dosage for you, as opposed to just delivering a universal number, because there isn’t one. 

There are a few things to consider when thinking about CBD vaping dosage, so let’s take the time to go through those one at a time. 

CBD Strength

Not all vape oils are created equal when it comes to strength, so don’t assume dosage is only about how often you take a puff. 

For example, this 1% Hush Oil is less strong than this 10% CBD Booster (10x less strong for the maths heads out there).

So before you consider how much to vape, also consider the strength of your juice. This statement will turn up a lot here, but start low (like with the 1% oil above) and decide where you want to go from there.  

Your Body and CBD 

There’s a couple of ways your body can help you decide what the right CBD dosage is for you, one is body weight, and the other is body chemistry. 

When it comes to body weight, the rule tends to be the heavier you are, the higher a dose you can handle, but this is not always the case. 

Many sources will give you a table based on body weight, giving you different starting points in terms of dosage depending on how much you weigh. 

We don’t buy into this, we just recommend starting with the lowest possible dose regardless of your weight, and that is because of the other body-based variable, body chemistry. 

Everybody’s body is different (we say that a lot, but it’s so much fun to say so we’re going to keep doing it) and how you react to CBD will be different from the next person, regardless of how much you each weight. The only way to learn how your body chemistry works is by testing it out, so again, start with the lowest dose, and build up. 

Bioavailability

Bioavailability is a posh word that is used a lot these days, it basically means the ability of your body to take in a specific substance. Certain CBD products are more bioavailable than others, meaning that you would need less or more for the same effect, depending on that bioavailability. 

CBD vape oils (e-liquids) are amongst the most bioavailable forms of CBD. This essentially means you would need a smaller dose of CBD e-liquids to get the same result as a higher dose of CBD edibles, for example. 

Frequency of Vaping

Guess what? Start low, build up. 

When you’re finding the right CBD dose for you, keep your vaping frequency low too, if you’re feeling nothing, feel free to take more frequent puffs, but if and when you up the strength, go back to occasional puffs, and work up again. 

It’s all about finding the right balance between CBD strength and vaping frequency. 

How Much CBD Should I Vape, CBD Tolerance…

This is one that actually doesn’t seem to matter. Contrary to natural assumption, the science suggests that the body does not build up a tolerance to CBD, so once you’ve found the right strength for you, you should be able to stick there. 

While we’re on tolerance, a quick step back into body chemistry. Don’t let your tolerance levels for other substances let you get cocky. CBD is a different compound to anything else you’ve tried (assuming you haven’t tried CBD before) so don’t assume just because you can handle lots of something else, you can get a jump start. 

Our advice is, and will remain the same (unless science tells us something different, which isn’t likely) start with the lowest dose, and build up until you find your sweet spot. Then, when you find that spot, stay there.
