We live in an influencer led society, whether you approve of that fact or not, but it has its benefits. One of these benefits is celebrities advocating products that come with an undeserved stigma. CBD is a good example of this, and more celebrities are using or endorsing the cannabinoid. So, which celebrities use CBD?
When we’re talking about influencers, there’s only one family that can come first. Arguably the most famous member of the Kardashian clan, Kim Kardashian-West is a recent addition to CBD advocacy, but she’s gone all in. From throwing a CBD themed baby shower for new baby Psalm West, to making videos creating CBD bath oils, Kim is, in her own words “obsessed with CBD everything”.
Having read his name, chances are you’re reading this in his voice, so enjoy that. Freeman is an avid user of CBD, and has claimed that it aided in his recovery following an accident back in 2008. CBD is also, according to Morgan himself, a great assistance in managing his chronic pain and fibromyalgia issues.
I mean, obviously.
Another name that isn’t a surprise on this list, Rogan’s advocacy of cannabis use is plausibly as well known as his back catalogue of movies at this point. Recently, Rogan has turned his eye to CBD advocacy and has a specific interest in the potential for CBD to help Alzheimer’s disease, in keeping with his non-profit organisation Hilarity for Charity which he heads alongside Lauren Miller.
The famous US soccer player is an ambassador for a CBD company co-founded by her twin sister, and is an outspoken advocate on the benefits she feels the cannabinoid has had for her, especially in terms of muscle recovery. More on that in our article here.
Whoopi & Maya is the much loved actor’s brand of cannabis infused products for wellness, and Goldberg is also a passionate advocate of CBD. Her main point of interest is how CBD can help women, having produced CBD products aimed at providing relief of menstrual symptoms. Goldberg also uses CBD personally, claiming it assists her with glaucoma, stress, and more.
There are numerous former athletes jumping on the CBD train, but perhaps known with the profile of Mike Tyson. Once known as the Baddest Man on the Planet, Tyson owns a marijuana farm called Cannabis Resort, and has spoke often and loudly about his personal use of CBD. Recently, Tyson launched his own CBD brand called CopperGel.
Alongside Freeman, Tom Hanks is probably the most trusted voice on this list, which is not insult to the other names present (we all have a less trusted voice than Morgan Freeman and Tom Hanks). Hanks created quite the buzz when he opened up about using CBD for his anxiety. He added that an extra bonus was relief for his various aches and pains, especially the arthritis he has in his knees. Hanks has also been working with Cornell University to study the potential benefits of CBD on those with Type 2 Diabetes.
Never the most outspoken of celebrities, Aniston has not said much on her CBD use, except that she is an advocate, because it offers her the benefits she got from marijuana, without the psychoactive effects. Aniston says CBD helps her with anxiety, pain, and stress.
Activist, actor, director, producer, there is little that Olivia Wilde doesn’t do, and that includes CBD advocacy. Wilde spoke in interviews about using CBD to relieve muscle aches and neck tightness during a six month on Broadway, saying it help her too relax without the use of too many painkillers.
The soundtrack of the teenage years for those of us of a certain age, Braxton is another recent convert to CBD. Having battled Lupus since 2008, Braxton said she was without her meds one day, tried CBD, and found that she felt benefits 20 minutes later. She has stated CBD products “really work and I really believe in it”.
